to" user guides, application guides, and even write and
maintain on-line (internet/web-based) documentation. These
individuals also are able to provide presentations and
training documentation for IT department members and external
organizations.
Technical
Writers support quality assurance efforts, assemble documentation
for audits and ensure that documentation is compliant with
defined guidelines. These individuals are experienced
in researching and evaluating new documentation tools
and methods. They maintain documentation standards and keep
abreast of current information through associating with
professional individuals or societies, or by reviewing
professional publications, newsletters, e-mail, and web sites.
Senior
Technical Writers are experienced in the process involved to
develop documentation project plans and timelines and are able
to supervise and train less senior employees and
provide informational assistance on an ongoing basis. Senior
Technical Writers are able to collaborate with departmental
programmers to collect and interpret input from Information
Technology (IT) or other departmental personnel.
