These individuals also are able to provide presentations and training documentation for IT department members and external organizations.

These individuals are experienced in researching and evaluating new documentation tools and methods. They maintain documentation standards and keep abreast of current information through associating with professional individuals or societies, or by reviewing professional publications, newsletters, e-mail, and web sites.

Senior Technical Writers are experienced in the process involved to develop documentation project plans and timelines and are able to supervise and train less senior employees and provide informational assistance on an ongoing basis. Senior Technical Writers are able to collaborate with departmental programmers to collect and interpret input from Information Technology (IT) or other departmental personnel.
